Our Story
A Pioneering Vision for IP in Southeast Asia
BOR Singapore is the international arm of Biro Oktroi Roosseno (BOR), Indonesia’s pioneering intellectual property consultancy. Founded in Jakarta in 1951 by Prof. Dr. Ir. R. Roosseno Soerjohadikoesoemo and Mr. Yland, BOR was established with a vision to advance intellectual property protection in Southeast Asia.
Professor Roosseno, a distinguished structural engineer, believed that protecting intellectual property was essential to national development and innovation. His founding vision continues to guide our practice today.

Hakim Ahkamul
Director
Hakim Ahkamul is the Director of Biro Oktroi Roosseno’s Singapore office, where he leads the firm’s international operations and strategic growth across ASEAN and global markets. He oversees client relationships, business development, and the delivery of intellectual property services to multinational and regional clients.
Building on BOR’s 75-year legacy, Hakim drives the firm’s mission of making expert IP counsel accessible to businesses of all sizes, from startups navigating their first filings to established enterprises managing complex multi-jurisdiction portfolios.
Balaji Loganathan
Senior Manager, Global IP
Balaji Loganathan is an Intellectual Property professional and Trademark Agent based in Singapore. He oversees trademark prosecution, portfolio management, and strategic advisory services for clients seeking to protect and expand their brands across regional and international markets.
With a Bachelor of Law (Hons) and a postgraduate diploma in Intellectual Property Law, Balaji brings comprehensive expertise in trademark filings, oppositions, enforcement actions, and portfolio strategies across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India.
